If you’re in the market for a cellphone and a cookbook, T-Mobile is the place to go. The mobile network’s CEO John Legere spends his Sundays in the kitchen and even has a slow cooker cookbook available for sale.
And the leader of the “Are you with us?” network is also busy making real estate moves. Collier County public records show Legere purchased a sprawling waterfront property in Naples, FL, in mid-October.
The home comes in at 6,240 square feet, or double the size of the Manhattan penthouse he put on the market last year. Legere recently sold the penthouse to fashion designer Giorgio Armani, according to the Wall Street Journal. Now, it looks like the white sandy beaches of South Florida have called Legere’s name.
The small, affluent city on Florida’s Gulf Coast is known for its golf courses, shopping, and generally slower pace, which is likely a nice change for a CEO who plans to step down this spring.
Legere bought the Naples mansion for $16.7 million, a sensible investment with the recent sale of his Manhattan penthouse netting him $17.5 million.
The home comes with an eight-car garage and an abundance of well-appointed bedrooms and bathrooms. There’s an office and a state-of-the-art kitchen as well—ideal for setting up a slow cooker (or two!).
Out back, Legere can enjoy the ultimate in Florida living: a sparkling pool, a covered veranda with a fireplace, and a boat dock, which juts out onto the Intracoastal Waterway.
And let’s not forget all that Naples has to offer. The city has state parks, 22 public golf courses (and a host of private ones as well), and all of the shopping. If Legere gets bored with Naples, Sarasota and Tampa are just a couple of hours to the north, and Miami, as well as the Keys, are just a couple of hours to the southeast.
