A Miami Beach home designed with rising sea levels in mind has floated onto the market for $27 million. Architect Max Strang created the home expressly for its locale, raising it 13 feet above sea level.

“The house has elevated expectations and raised the bar,” says listing agent Eloy Carmenate. He and Mick Duchon, both of Douglas Elliman, represent the listing.

The property was purchased in 2013 for $5.6 million by Italian developer Valerio Morabito, who commissioned Strang and interior architect Michele Bonan to build a standout estate.

However, the mansion took years to build to his specifications, and Morabito, who had recently married Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Vita Sidorkina-Morabito, decided not to move in and is selling instead.
