The director of “Avengers: Endgame,” Anthony Russo, has an endgame for his Los Angeles home. Now that he’s the owner of an infamous Pasadena estate, he’s letting go of his remodeled midcentury modern abode for $2,185,000.
The writer and producer purchased the 1949 build for $901,000 in 2011, and then embarked on an extensive remodel.
With three bedrooms and four bathrooms, the 2,093-square-foot residence features a large living room and dining room filled with walls of windows. The upgraded eat-in kitchen retains the original kitchen cabinets, an unusual detail.
“The most interesting features are the perfectly maintained St. Charles metal kitchen cabinets. It’s unusual to find them in such pristine condition. They are very highly coveted by midcentury architectural aficionados,” says the listing agent, Richard von Ernst.
He also points out that the original hardwood floors throughout the main floor are “exquisitely preserved and finished.”
On the main floor, you’ll find the master suite with a private bath, two more bedrooms, plus a second bath, as well as an additional half-bath. The lower level consists of a studio, bathroom, laundry, and storage.

Russo, 49, was prompted to sell this home after picking up a massive Pasadena property this summer. Known as the Arden Villa, and used for numerous film and TV shoots, it’s best known as the backdrop for the 1980s primetime soap opera “Dynasty.”
It’s the site of the show’s infamous lilypond catfight, and the home became available in 2017.
The storied estate had been on the market for as much as $28 million, but Russo’s offer of $15,579,500 won him the 2.4-acre property. Built in 1913, it features the legendary lilypond, a pool, tennis court, and manicured gardens, as well as a 10,290-square-foot mansion.

In fact, it’s not even the only home Russo and his wife, Ann, bought in the area. The couple also paid $5.8 million for another nearby Pasadena property, Variety reports.
Russo and his brother, Joseph Russo, are the directorial duo behind the Marvel blockbusters “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “Endgame.”
