After quarterback Tom Brady announced his move to Tampa Bay to join the Buccaneers, rumors swirled that his longtime teammate, tight end Rob Gronkowski, would resurface from retirement to serve as the yin to Brady’s yang.
The rumors were true. Gronk recently passed his physical, which means the trade between the New England Patriots and the Bucs is a done deal. The 30-year-old, three-time Super Bowl champ is headed south—again.
The Tampa Bay area has grown since the last time Gronk owned a house in the area, so we decided to put together a list of possible homes he could consider for his second Tampa sojourn.
In compiling the list, we kept a few key housing concerns top of mind:
- Gronk is always down for a great party, so the property needs to have the right vibe to turn up.
- His family and friends are always around, so Gronk’s new Tampa Bay home needs to accommodate a lot of people.
- The future Hall of Famer doesn’t really spend a lot of money (relatively speaking) on his homes. He owned a home in Tampa before, and spent only $1.6 million on it. His Boston penthouse was purchased for $1.9 million. And we can’t forget about the sweet double-unit Miami condo he owns, which he snagged for $1.7 million.
The Tampa Bay area has also been on the economic upswing for a few years, so home prices have been on the rise as well, but we think we’ve found a few options that meet Gronk’s must-haves.
6152 52nd St S., St. Petersburg, FL
Price: $2,900,000
Southside style: Tampa’s neighbor, St. Petersburg, is the hot spot for millennials, nightlife, and all things beach-related.
Located in prestigious Bayway Isles, this cool oasis offers three wings, one of which is dedicated solely to the master suite. There are three more en suite bedrooms in a second wing, and the third wing makes an ideal private suite for guests, with two bedrooms and a private bath.
The property has two garages, one of which includes a gym—ideal for a pro athlete. A covered lanai leads out to a glittering pool and beyond that, a private beach.

4908 Carranza Ct, Tampa, FL
Price: $1,990,000
Bay views: This waterfront abode in Westshore Yacht Club is right in line with Gronk’s price point history. It’s also the only waterfront property available at the moment in the coveted neighborhood.
In true Florida style, the backyard is dialed in for entertaining. A pool, spa, outdoor kitchen, and zero-maintenance lawn come together for a winning play.
The home has four bedrooms, a media room, den, and ample space for a home gym as well. A huge, chef-inspired kitchen rounds out the bill.
The Westshore Yacht Club is a gated community that offers a host of amenities. Gronk would have access to two community pools, a spa, and a couple of dining options as well.

1616 Culbreath Isles Dr, Tampa, FL
Price: $2,900,000
Waterfront retreat: Culbreath Isles is yet another exclusive neighborhood in the desirable South Tampa area, and this six-bedroom home comes with all sorts of amenities. A library, gym, gourmet kitchen, media room and bar, and resort-style backyard tick off all the boxes.
The attention to detail is a major advantage of this majestic mansion, which features high-end fixtures and finishes throughout.
We weren’t kidding about that backyard, either. The crystal-clear pool offers a waterslide and waterfall, and the lovely shaded lanai is flanked by picturesque landscaping that reinforces its privacy.
If the new owner wants to motor out on to the bay, a boat-ready dock is waiting.

371 Channelside Walk Way, Ph 1601, Tampa, FL
Price: $2,595,000
Penthouse paradise: We couldn’t help but notice that the last two of Gronk’s home purchases have been penthouses, and this 3,998-square-foot unit in the heart of Tampa fits the bill.
Downtown Tampa is quickly becoming the place to be, thanks to the bustling Riverwalk, restaurants, shops, and the extensive plans for development. The Grandview on Harbour Island is within walking distance of the hustle and bustle and offers much of what this extremely social football star seems to crave.
The four bedrooms make it easy to have guests over for a long weekend, and two large private terraces provide ample opportunity to enjoy the city views and serve as front-row seating for awesome sunsets. The building also offers a private pool and gym.

98 Adriatic Ave, Tampa, FL
Price: $1,999,000
Brady’s neighbor: Since Brady is renting a home—Derek Jeter’s previous residence, to be precise—on Davis Islands, Gronk might consider becoming the QB’s neighbor in a brand-new home in this affluent neighborhood. The community provides two pools, tennis courts, and a private airport.
This six-bedroom modern beauty offers a den, game room, loft, and chef’s kitchen. The outdoor kitchen, covered lanai, and large pool with additional backyard space are perfect for enjoying Florida’s year-round summery weather.
Davis Islands is just a stone’s throw from downtown Tampa, which would put Gronk, like Brady, in a prime location. The area is also known for its adorable eateries and shops.

1238 E. Kennedy Blvd, Unit 1005, Tampa, FL
Price: $1,199,000
City living: Channelside is quickly becoming one of the most popular areas in Tampa. In the downtown area, it’s surrounded by restaurants, shops, museums, theaters, and social activities. This two-story penthouse in Channelside is a gem.
The first floor serves as the main living space, with its sprawling, open layout and floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s also where the master suite and a second en suite bedroom are located. Two large terraces offer even more room to spread out.
Upstairs is a third bedroom, a wet bar, and a separate space that could serve as an office, den, or media room.
The building itself features a pool, fitness room, clubhouse, and sauna.
