With New York City on lockdown, the hit-making singer John Legend and his wife, the model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen, are stretching out their indoor space. The talented twosome purchased a Nolita penthouse next door to the penthouse they already own, the Real Deal reported.
The downtown residence was last listed for a shade under $8 million, according to records. The pending sale is said to be “reported but not recorded,” and the unit appears off-market on realtor.com®.
The loft-style space first landed on the market last September, for $8.5 million. The couple apparently jumped at the chance to buy it when the price dropped to $8 million late last year.
The striking downtown residence is a mix of modern and historic elements, including exposed brick, cast-iron Corinthian columns, and wide-plank wood flooring. Modern amenities include automated shades, a video intercom, multizone heat and air conditioning, and a projection-screen TV.
With 3,553 square feet of living space, the layout includes three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms. The three floors, with their 12-foot beamed ceilings, are connected by an intricate ironwork staircase.

On the lower level, you’ll find the great room, which features a large kitchen, dining, and living area. There’s also a guest suite with a bath and walk-in closet, as well as a pantry and laundry room.

The power couple are also set up comfortably on the West Coast, with a contemporary mansion in L.A. that they purchased for $14.1 million in 2016, according to Variety.
The two had previously owned a stylish, midcentury Hollywood Hills home featured both in Architectural Digest and in the TV series “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” It sold in 2014 for $2 million.
Legend is a 10-time Grammy winning singer, songwriter, and actor, who is one of only 15 artists to have clinched an EGOT, having received one or more of four awards, an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Teigen is hosting a new show, “Chrissy’s Court,” on Quibi.
