Former Golden State Warriors power forward David West is shooting for a sale of his home in Oakland, CA. The residence in the hills is now available for $3,675,000.
West purchased the brand-new home in August 2017 for $3.55 million. Located in a gated community in the hills above the Montclair Village area, the home features high-end finishes, modern architecture, and high ceilings.
“I love everything about this house,” says listing agent Julia Temple of Compass. And what’s not to love?
The spacious, multilevel retreat measures 6,000 square feet and has five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. Views of the San Francisco Bay are prominent throughout the home.
The layout includes a formal living room with a fireplace, and a formal dining room. The chef’s kitchen opens to a patio, and sits adjacent to a light-filled family room.
“The custom finishes in the gourmet kitchen might be my favorite. I [like] the custom walnut cabinets and the hand-selected waterfall marble countertops, as well as the designer plumbing and light fixtures,” says Temple.
Upstairs, the master suite with private patio will “sweep you off your feet,” the listing notes. In addition, the home offers an office and a large recreation room. The outdoor space includes a built-in barbecue area, fire pit, and space for entertaining.
West isn’t the only former NBA champion heading out of Oakland. Kevin Durant’s former luxury rental in the Oakland Hills also landed on the market for $6 million. He has since decamped to the East Coast to join the Brooklyn Nets.
West, 39, retired after the 2018 season and ended his 15-year NBA career on the highest of notes. The two-time All-Star joined the Warriors in 2016, and became a two-time champ thanks to the Warriors’ NBA titles in 2017 and 2018.
