Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Adam Jones has a new home base. He purchased the newly built abode in Paradise Valley, AZ, in August for $3.9 million. The home was on the market for $4.28 million in March, so the All-Star cut himself a sweet deal.
Jones just wrapped up his first season with the Diamondbacks, finishing a one-year contract. If the purchase of a brand-new luxury home is a sign, he may be ready to put down deeper roots in the desert.
The 7,428-square-foot home offers six bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. With views of the Camelback and Mummy mountains, the 1.1-acre property includes a fountain, pool, and outdoor kitchen.
Highlights of the home include a chef’s kitchen with dual islands, a butcher block top, and high-end appliances. The adjoining living space features floor-to-ceiling windows and a fireplace.
A wet bar off the family room is perfect for parties, complete with dishwasher, wine cooler, ice maker, and beverage fridge. Bonus: It comes with a convenient pass-through window to the patio.
The master suite includes a sitting area, marble bath and luxe shower, and two walk-in closets.
Outside, the spacious patio features travertine pavers and a fireplace. The property comes with a guest casita with a private entrance. Other amenities include a media closet and a game room.
Jones spent 11 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles and made the All-Star team five times. With his westward move, he’s had to place his massive Maryland compound on the market—the storied spread was built for Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr.
Jones snagged the enormous estate at auction just last year for $3,465,000. But when the Diamondbacks came calling, the Oriole flew the coop, and now needs to recoup the money from that purchase. The 24-acre property (with baseball diamond!) is still on the market for $4.25 million, an increase from March, when it was initially listed for $4 million.
The round robin real estate didn’t stop there. Shortly after picking up Ripken’s spread, Jones had to unload his swanky suburban Maryland mansion, which he listed for $2.7 million. That property is now off the market.
