NFL offensive tackle Donald Penn is still attempting to pass his Encino, CA, home to a new owner. The Pro Bowler has put the home on the market for $4.85 million. Penn purchased the Mediterranean mansion in 2012 for $3.275 million—just a couple of years after signing a $43 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A Los Angeles native, Penn first placed the SoCal property up for sale in 2017, with a price tag of $5.5 million. With no takers, he relisted the mansion for $5.2 million in 2019. Now, the huge home is available for a 12% discount off Penn’s initial asking price.

Built in 2008, the massive 10,000-square-foot abode is a sports fan’s delight.

The listing describes an eight-bedroom estate that’s “meticulously detailed with the finest European finishes.” The home is spread over three levels, and highlights include formal living and dining areas, a gourmet kitchen with granite counters, and an adjoining family room that opens to a terrace.

Upstairs, the master suite includes a fireplace, two baths, and a balcony. The listing photos show off an eye-popping sneaker collection in one of the two walk-in closets. Other bedrooms offer en suite bathrooms and private balconies.

On the lower level, there’s a game room currently festooned with Penn’s sports memorabilia, as well as a media space to watch big games. There’s also a bar area, wine cellar, and large movie theater. Buyers in need of a calorie burn will find a gym and sauna.

Set on nearly half an acre, the grounds include lush landscaping, a pool, spa, covered patio, and a built-in barbecue. The property also has plenty of guest parking and a three-car garage.

The convenient location is close to shops, restaurants, Beverly Hills, downtown L.A., and Santa Monica.

Penn, 36, played the 2019 season with the Washington Redskins, but he is best known for his stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders. He’s caught four touchdown passes in the course of his 13-year career—a rarity for a hulking tackle.

Lisa-Maree Carter with Pinnacle Estate Properties holds the listing.
