Former Oakland Raiders lineman Robert Gallery is selling his huge home in Danville, CA, for $5,998,800.

The football player, who is now retired, purchased the massive property in the upscale East Bay town for $3.675 million in 2009, while he was still starring at guard for the Raiders. Just a little over a decade later, Gallery is hoping almost to double his money.

Located on just over 5 level acres, the 7,200-square-foot home on two levels features six bedrooms and 4.5 baths. Custom-built, the East Bay estate features red oak hardwood, millwork, plantation shutters, and custom cabinetry.

Along with formal living and dining rooms, the space includes a family room, a gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances, and a breakfast room. Other features include a home theater, an office, and game room.

But the real fun takes place outdoors. A huge range of recreation is available, including a pool, spa, lighted tennis court, a play structure, and a go-cart racetrack.

When you want just to relax and dine, there are plenty of al fresco options as well. The parklike setting includes 100-year-old oaks, a patio, a built-in barbecue, two pergolas, a cabana with a fireplace, and a gazebo. A seasonal creek runs through the property.

But there’s even more: This property is designed for a serious car collector.

First, there’s a six-car garage with an apartment that includes a gym. You’ll also find a 6,100-square-foot shop that can hold up to 30 cars. What’s more, there’s also a drive-through RV bay, as well as a showroom.

To keep those utility bills down, solar panels heat up the home, shop, and pool. And a smart home system controls security, lights, the front gate, and the temperature.

The locale is also close to freeways, downtown shopping, and schools.

Now 39, Gallery played college football for the Hawkeyes at the University of Iowa. After being drafted second overall by the Raiders in 2004, the 6-foot-7-inch lineman played for the Silver and Black until 2010. Then, after playing a year each with the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, he retired from professional football in 2012.

Joujou Chawla with Compass holds the listing.
