Here’s some “fun” real estate news: The musician Nate Ruess is letting go of his melodious Manhattan loft for $3.85 million. The lead singer of the band Fun and his partner, the British fashion designer Charlotte Ronson, purchased the residence in 2014 for $2.55 million. The couple had first listed their home in December for $3.9 million, before relisting it at the lower price last month.

When the couple bought the 2,500-square-foot space in the NoHo neighborhood, it had an outdated 1980s vibe, according to a feature in Architectural Digest.

To bring it up to date, they tapped the designers Paul Fortune and Gachot Studios to reimagine the two-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom loft.

As AD put it, “The idea was to take a raw downtown loft and make it look and feel like a grown-up uptown apartment.”

The result: a turnkey, full-floor unit that features 12-foot-high ceilings and elegant interiors decorated with the couple’s artwork.

Accessed from a keyed elevator, the condo opens into a vast, 35-foot-long living room, with three oversized windows that overlook Broadway.

The open, eat-in chef’s kitchen, with mint-green cabinetry, includes marble countertops and high-end appliances. With the kitchen, dining area, and living room at the center of the loft, the space can easily accommodate large dinner parties.

Two raised steps signal a shift from public to private space, into a bookcase-lined gallery, through a mirrored dressing hall to the master suite, which is over 21 feet wide. The bedroom features three windows, a gas fireplace, and a separate seating area.

The ensuite bathroom features a marble-clad bath, radiant-heated floors, and soaking tub. A second interior bedroom or office includes a walk-in closet and en suite bath. The home also has a powder room.

The renovated space includes central air conditioning, oak floors, and high-end finishes throughout. A storage unit comes with the apartment. What’s more, the 10-unit boutique building is close to Washington Square Park, Whole Foods, restaurants, shops, and cafes.

In 2018, the couple listed the fully furnished home as a six-month rental, for $16,000 a month, the New York Post reported. According to Architectural Digest, Ruess also owns a home in L.A.’s Laurel Canyon, which he purchased from Fortune, the couple’s designer.

Now 38, the Grammy winner is the lead singer of the indie pop band Fun, and The Format. In 2015, he started performing solo. Ronson is a fashion designer based in New York City.

Joshua Wesoky with Compass holds the listing.
