Former Seattle Mariners pitcher Félix Hernández is using his rare summer off to take care of a little real estate business.
King Félix has listed his magnificent Clyde Hill, WA, mansion for $7.8 million, signaling he’s ready to make some moves in preparation for the season to resume in the coming weeks.
Before COVID-19 brought an abrupt halt to spring training, Hernández was trying to earn a spot in the Atlanta Braves‘ pitching rotation. And although the season is on hold for the time being, Hernández is prepping for life after the Emerald City.
The 34-year-old ace is leaving behind a magnificent six-bedroom, six-bathroom, 7,100-square-foot mansion in the upscale Clyde Hill neighborhood. The residence offers gorgeous views of Lake Washington and the Seattle skyline.
Everything about the half-acre estate is elegant and tailored to impress a crowd—from the enormous kitchen and formal dining room to the backyard with pool, spa, and built-in barbecue.
Built in 2014, the home features a contemporary design that’s beautifully balanced by the lush landscaping outside, which helps to soften the home’s clean lines and angles.
The stylish residence has all the amenities a big-league baller could ever desire, including a home theater, bar with pool table, office, wine room, and six-car garage.
And this isn’t the first pricey piece of real estate King Félix has sold in the Pacific Northwest. In 2015, he sold a $4 million home in Bellevue, WA, before sliding home into this immaculate Clyde Hill spread.
Hernández broke into the big leagues with the Mariners in 2005 as a teenager. He’s spent his entire 15-year career with the M’s, winning a Cy Young Award in 2010, and finishing as a runner-up in 2009 and 2014.
The six-time All-Star fell on hard times over the past three seasons, and became a free agent after the 2019 season.
