Former NFL All-Pro tight end Jeremy Shockey hopes to toss his Miami Beach home to a new owner. It’s now on the market for $4 million.
The two-time Super Bowl champ, who last played for the Carolina Panthers in 2011, may now have an interest in real estate. He picked up this spectacular property in the Sunshine State back in 2015 for $1.75 million.
The brand-new construction on a golf course now features “top-of-the-line finishes” throughout. Within the huge, 9,750-square-foot layout, every room opens on to a balcony or terrace.
The spacious floor plan includes five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. The contemporary design with wide-plank flooring includes a dining room, as well as a living area that leads out to a covered deck. An open kitchen comes with a waterfall island and bar seating.
Upstairs, the massive master suite includes a huge marble bath with separate shower and tub, as well as a mirrored, walk-in closet and private balcony.
Outside, the grounds include a covered area for dining and eating, and a grassy area with a pool and sundeck.
In addition, the property includes a one-car garage, as well as more space for cars inside the private gate.
Other perks include hurricane-impact windows and a laundry room. The location is right next to Miami Beach Golf Club, just a bit north of party central in South Beach.
If you’d like to try before you buy, the home is also available to rent for $20,000 a month. The rental is available either unfurnished or furnished, with a minimum six-month lease.
Around the time Shockey purchased this property, he placed a Miami condo on the market for $3 million.
He finally sold the three-bedroom, three-bath penthouse years later, in 2018, for $2.4 million. He still came out ahead, since he paid $1.45 million in 2005 for the unit, the Real Deal reported.
Shockey, 39, played 10 years in the NFL after starring in college at the University of Miami. A tall target for quarterbacks, he caught 547 passes over the course of his career. He won Super Bowl rings in 2007 with the New York Giants and in 2009 with the New Orleans Saints.
Reid Heidenry with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing.
