The ’80s Called and They Love This Mansion—It’s Our Most Popular Home This Week

realtor.com

For those of us who remember 1989—and even for those who are too young to recall the pre-internet era—this week’s most popular home on realtor.com® is a terrific throwback. Located in Indian Wells, CA, this daring desert dwelling sums up the end of the 1980s in serious style.

The neon pinks and turquoise blues throughout the home, which was finished in 1989, are straight out of an episode of “Miami Vice.”

The curves of its architecture and the many sculptures dotting the property evoke the popped collars of every ’80s rich-guy villain. Meanwhile, the hot-pink pool table in the home’s neon-lit game room is the cherry on top of this cool confection.

This enormous estate, with its daring pastel color palette, doesn’t come cheap. It’s available to any buyer with an affinity for over-the-top style and $6 million to spare. The price is out of reach for almost everyone, but the must-see listing photos are a gawker’s dream.

There’s a reason why this home collected the most clicks this week.

We saw this one-of-a-kind residence land on this list a few times last year, and now, a new wave of curious clickers have discovered the quirky underground dwelling.

You also clicked on a number of properties with wide open spaces, which all look extremely appealing at the moment. So spread on out, and survey all of this week’s most popular homes…
