While he’s waiting for the baseball season to begin, Julio Teherán, the new Los Angeles Angels pitcher, has rented a home in Anaheim Hills.

The All-Star pitcher signed a one-year, $9 million deal with the Angels after the 2019 season, and closed the chapter on his nine-year career with the Atlanta Braves. Whether he’ll actually ever throw a pitch for the Halos is in question, but the quality of the rental home he picked out isn’t up for debate.

Teherán is sheltering in place with his wife, Yoss, and their rental home has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and more than 3,200 square feet of living space.

Covering almost an acre, the lot overlooks the Anaheim Hills Golf Club and offers spectacular views of the hills and valleys of Anaheim. The listing details also mention views of the nightly fireworks at Disneyland—which will be a welcome sight when the amusement park opens up again.

The residence is about 10 miles east of Angel Stadium—a roughly 20-minute commute, should Teherán ever set foot in the clubhouse.

The gated home is at the end of a large cul-de-sac, offering extreme privacy. The front entrance has a fountain with a pond and waterfall.

The backyard also boasts a pool, flanked by a fountain featuring two dolphins spouting into the water. For ultimate relaxation, there’s a fire pit and a hot tub attached to the pool that can accommodate 12 people.

When it was offered as a luxury monthly rental earlier this year, the price for the place was $9,500 a month. The home was sold to a savvy investor in August 2019 for $1.25 million, after initially listing for $1.6 million last March.

The native of Colombia still owns a place near Atlanta. In 2017, he purchased a four-bedroom, 4,600-square-foot home in the affluent Sandy Springs neighborhood, for just over $1.6 million. Before buying in Georgia, the hurler rented a home from Jason Heyward, the former Atlanta Braves outfielder.

Teherán, 29, broke into the big leagues in 2011, and became a stalwart in the Braves’ rotation in 2013. He earned All-Star nods in 2014 and 2016, and has struck out nearly 1,200 batters in the course of his career.
