After two years and multiple price cuts, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer David Coverdale appears to be close to selling his rock star home. The Lake Tahoe-area getaway is in contingent status, and was last priced at a heavily discounted $6.8 million.

The longtime resident of Incline Village, NV, purchased the property in 1988 for $923,077, according to realtor.com® records, and added plenty of rockin’ touches.

As we reported, the musician initially listed the home in 2019 for $9.85 million. But a year later, with no takers, Coverdale significantly cut the price to $7.65 million. Months later, the price dropped again, to $7.2 million. Last month, the Whitesnake frontman was singing a new tune, and the price on the gated estate was $6.8 million.

That price tag of under $7 million seems to have finally attracted a buyer. Even with the discount, Coverdale stands to pocket a hefty profit on his longtime home.

Of course, the world has drastically changed in the last two years. Perhaps the value of privacy, space, and entertainment options under one roof found new appeal.

“Everything you need to shelter in place,” the listing reads, noting that the property spans over 1 acre and is bordered by Forest Service land, “with few neighbors.”

The home was built in 1988, and its layout of more than 9,000 square feet includes four bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and walls of glass.

Multiple decks wrapping around the home offer plenty of indoor-outdoor space to spread out. The idyllic grounds include sundecks, tranquil hideaways, and an outdoor grotto with a waterfall.

The rock star touches are eye-catching. An indoor pool is part of the wellness center in the home, which also boasts a sauna, steam, and a spa salon.

The rocker’s lounge features memorabilia, animal-print furniture, and built-in shelves for housing a music and book collection. A home theater sports similar decor.

The master bedroom is a sublime space, with walls of glass, views, and a hot tub.

For a family that likes to hang out at home, the layout features a master suite on the entry level, as well as flexible space for guest suites or offices with bathrooms on the middle floor. Media and entertainment rooms are on the lower level.

The double-height great room features walls of glass and a fireplace, and adjoins a formal dining area. The dual-island kitchen features a breakfast bar and granite and marble counters.

Along with the rocker lounge, the home includes a bar, library, home theater, and an outdoor lounge area featuring a fire pit and grotto.

Known as the lead singer for Deep Purple, the English-born musician, who is 69, went on to found the band Whitesnake in 1978. Whitesnake is best-known for its chart-topping power ballad “Here I Go Again.” In 2016, the musician was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple.

Kerry Donovan, Megan Parr Warren, and Debbie Hansen with Donovan Group Luxury with Chase International- Incline Village held the listing.
