Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has listed his spectacular family estate in Paradise Valley, AZ, for $8,750,000.

The successful businessman served as the CEO of the Cold Stone Creamery chain of ice cream shops for over a decade, eventually leaving the food industry in 2007 to enter Arizona state politics. He was elected treasurer in 2010 and governor in 2014.

The Republican easily won re-election in 2018, meaning his term won’t end until 2023. So why is he selling this exquisite mansion where his family has lived for more than a decade? Does it signal a change in political ambition?

Spokesman Patrick Ptak says the family is staying put.

“Yes, the Duceys are selling their home, but don’t worry, they’re not leaving Arizona. They’re staying right here,” Ptak told realtor.com®.

The French farmhouse is both enormous and tasteful. The 11,400-square-foot residence features wide-plank, French oak flooring; reclaimed oak beams and trusses on the ceilings; a 19th-century French oak front door; French and Italian antique light fixtures; French antique terra-cotta flooring; and a Louis XIII French oak wine cellar.

The gated 2-acre lot is surrounded by mountain views and backs up to the Paradise Valley Country Club. The property includes a main house, a 1,200-square-foot guesthouse, pool with cabana, sport court, lawns, a courtyard, and private golf cart path to the course.

Ducey and his wife, Angela, purchased this prime slice of Paradise Valley—a celeb- and millionaire-studded enclave—in 2005 and built their dream home in 2009. The high-profile couple raised their three boys (Joe, Jack, and Sam) there.

It’s understandable that the couple are now looking to downsize.

A property of this size, scale, and price tag will likely take some time to sell. We don’t know what the political future might hold for the governor, but one thing is certain: Whoever nabs this gorgeous golf property is a landslide winner.
