Lakers Owner Jeanie Buss Celebrates Championship by Listing SoCal Home

After her basketball team won the NBA championship, Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss celebrated—by playing the real estate game, and listing her newly renovated beach house in Playa del Rey, CA.

The updated town home can be yours for $3.1 million. As far as we can tell, no Lakers paraphernalia is included.

Located near the Lakers training facility in El Segundo, the luxury unit sits right on the beach.

Buss purchased the property in January for $2.6 million, a record for the gated complex known as The Breakers.

The previous owner was reported to be Barry Poznick, MGM TV’s president of unscripted and alternative television, according to the Los Angeles Times.

After her purchase, Buss somehow found the time to renovate the interiors in a more modern, sleek style.

Now that it’s updated, the open floor plan features four bedrooms and three bathrooms, on 2,170 square feet of living space. The living area opens from sliding glass doors to a patio with unobstructed ocean views. A high-tech fireplace is operated by Bluetooth.

The open kitchen features Caesarstone counters, Thermador appliances, a waterfall-edge island with bar seating, and a dining table close by. Alternatively, head outside to the deck for a feast under the stars.

Upstairs, a sprawling master suite features a seating area and balcony, a custom closet, and a bathroom with walk-in shower and dual vanities.

The outdoor space features a deck with fire pit, and space for dining, along with views of the beach and water.

Residents of The Breakers enjoy such amenities as a secured entry, pool, spa, gym, basketball court, and gardens. Other perks include three parking spaces, in-unit laundry, and motorized Lutron shades.

Buss took over the ownership of the Lakers from her father, Jerry, who died in 2013. She made history last month as the first woman with a controlling team ownership to win a NBA championship.

In 2017, she picked up another home in the area, according to the Times, for $2.45 million, selling it two years later.
