4 Years After Landing on the Market, Kelly Clarkson’s Tennessee Mansion Finally Sells

After four years and multiple price cuts, Kelly Clarkson seems to have snagged a buyer for her melodious mansion in Hendersonville, TN, the New York Post reported.

The property is currently in pending sale status. It was last on the market for $6,950,000.

Clarkson and her now-estranged husbandBrandon Blackstock, picked up the mansion for $2,860,000 in 2012. The former couple spent plenty of dough on renovations, but a sale near the list price will result in a nice return on the initial investment.

A sale also allows the “Stronger” vocalist to move on from the home, and the life she shared there with Blackstock.

Her sights were originally much higher. The waterfront estate on over 4 acres had an aspirational asking price of $8.75 million back in 2017.

In 2019, the price was slashed significantly, to $7.5 million. And when that price failed to attract an offer, the price was cut yet again earlier this year, to $6,950,000.

That price attracted a buyer willing to make a deal. On April 19, the home went into contract. We’ll learn the final price once the sale is recorded.

As the listing agent, Jack Miller, pointed out when we spoke with him in 2018, the mansion, with a price tag higher than any other home in the area, required a certain amount of patience to find the right buyer—with an equally acceptable bank account. The area has been the home of music legends including Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and Taylor Swift.

“When we list at that price range, almost $9 million, we tell our clients to look at three, four years,” he told us in 2018, a year after the house had been put on the market. It appears that Miller’s timeline was spot on.

Spanning a whopping 20,121 square feet, the gated estate on a quiet, wooded cul-de-sac offers views from every window.

The layout opens to a grand foyer, a two-story great room with fireplace, French doors, and mezzanine, plus a formal dining room in dazzling shades of blue.

The informal quarters include an open kitchen with an adjacent family room, and a casual dining area. The master bedroom boasts bay windows overlooking the lake, a glam chandelier, a fireplace, and a spalike bath.

The entertaining options include a screening room, a kids’ room with built-in bunk beds, and a game room with a lounge. Saddle up to the cowboy bar, which is equipped with horse-saddle stools.

Outside, a split staircase from the balcony leads to a saltwater pool with two spas, a covered dining area, and private lake access, plus a dock.

Easy living in Encino

Clarkson has one real estate deal down and one more left to seal. The TV personality also wants to hand off her modern farmhouse in Encino, CA.

First listed in 2020 for $10 million, its price was discounted to $9.5 million last summer, and then slashed again earlier this year, to $8.9 million. Anyone who had taken a look at the home previously may want to jump on the relative bargain.

The chart-topper picked up the custom-built place brand-new in 2018 for $8.5 million, and still seems to be hoping for a profit, even after putting the property back on the market just two years later.

The gourmet kitchen features three islands, a deluxe La Cornue range, two dishwashers, and state-of-the-art appliances.

The main bedroom suite features exposed beams, a fireplace, private patio, lounge area, and an “immense” walk-in closet, the listing notes.

The home is also equipped with a home theater, a gym, wine room, and a two-level guesthouse with a full kitchen and two bathrooms.

Set on a half-acre of parklike grounds, the outdoor space features mature palms, a pool, and a spa. Entertain outside with a built-in lounge, fire pit, and fully equipped kitchen with pizza oven.

Chris Corkum with Compass holds the Encino listing.

Clarkson, 39, catapulted to fame on the first season of “American Idol” in 2002. Her many hits include “Since You Been Gone” and “Stronger.” She is also a coach on “The Voice” and since 2019, has hosted her own talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
