After whiffing last year, Boston Red Sox legend David “Big Papi” Ortiz is making another attempt to sell his massive home in Weston, MA. It’s now available for $5.5 million—an almost 13% price cut from last year’s asking price of $6.3 million.

The 7,714-square-foot estate was completed in 2002, and features six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

It first went up for sale in February 2019, before vanishing from the market in mid-July. Situated on over 2 acres, the gated home comes with fully fenced yard and an extraordinary circular drive.

As you enter, there’s a lovely circular staircase flanked by the living room and study. You’ll also find a large formal dining room, ideal for hosting large parties.

The kitchen features a built-in half-circle breakfast area, as well as an oversized island. In addition, there’s a custom walk-in pantry that includes an extra Sub-Zero refrigerator.

The spacious master suite features a sitting area, custom closets, and a steam shower in the master bathroom. One of the kids’ bedrooms has a Fenway scoreboard mural painted on the wall.

On the lower level is a space designed for entertainment that incorporates materials sourced directly from Fenway Park—surely enough to entice any buyer who’s a card-carrying member of Red Sox Nation.

Luxe amenities include a plush theater room that opens into the bar area, a wine cellar, playroom, and gym.

Out back, the private estate features a pool, hot tub, oversized patio, and a sprawling yard.

Listing photos show that the home is empty and ready for new buyers to come in and put their own touches on the place. An estate sale was held at the home last year, for fans hoping to score some Big Papi memorabilia of their own.

Ortiz, 44, was a ten-time All-Star, a three-time World Series champion, and seven-time Silver Slugger Award winner. One of the most beloved Sox players of all time, he’s probably on his way to Cooperstown for a Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2021.

He and his wife, Tiffany, own a 10,000-square-foot home in the Pinecrest section of Miami. He currently serves as an MLB studio analyst for Fox Sports.

Melissa Dailey with Coldwell Banker Realty-Wellesley has the listing.
