Peek Inside the Home Designed by Alison Victoria on ‘Rock the Block’

Rock the Block

Alison Victoria of “Windy City Rehab” has served up stunning designs on both seasons of the HGTV hit “Rock the Block.” Unfortunately, she didn’t emerge victorious on either season.

Victoria and her Season 2 teammate, Mike Holmes of “Holmes on Homes,” did snag wins on two of the show’s five challenges. They rocked the judges’ world with their kitchen and their master suite, but just missed winning the overall crown.

Even though they didn’t win the whole shebang, the five-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home they designed is nevertheless gorgeous.

The home in Dallas, GA, that they worked on is already off market, but there’s still time to take a peek inside. The 4,120-square-foot residence with stunning designs went on the market in early March for $635,000. We’re not sure of the final sale price, but we’re guessing a buyer was willing to pay close to full price for this HGTV-approved abode.

The kitchen is brick-tastic

It’s no surprise that Victoria and Holmes won the kitchen challenge.

With beams stretching across the ceiling, a large island, and stunning brickwork on the back wall, this space is designed to appeal to homebuyers.

That said, the kitchen almost turned out a whole lot different. At first, Victoria wanted to paint the brick accent wall white—but Holmes insisted they keep the natural color.

“Don’t give it character and then cover it up with all-white,” Holmes said.

Victoria ended up giving in, and the kitchen wound up the better for it. It now has a beautiful French country feel that really stood out in the competition.

The master bedroom has a fantastic feature wall

Many designers will use paint or wallpaper to dress up a bedroom.

Veering in a different direction, Victoria and Holmes used reclaimed wood. They enhanced the master suite by installing wood up the headboard wall and all the way across the ceiling. It’s a unique look, with a warm color.

“It’s perfect for a bedroom, where people just want to feel the most at home,” Victoria said.

It has unforgettable bathroom tile

It seems that Victoria and Holmes deserved to win the master suite challenge, especially with their unique master bathroom tile.

Victoria picked out a tile that starts out black at the top of the wall, but fades into pure white halfway down.

The ombre look required lots of labor, because Victoria wanted the grout color to fade from dark to light as well. In the end, she wound up happy with the distinctive tile work. Paired with a glass shower, double vanities, and gold hardware, the result is really impressive.

It has a ton of great gathering spaces

Holmes and Victoria expanded the living space into the basement by creating a fun game room, with a wall of built-ins.

They also added a bonus bedroom with a massive closet—perfect for guests.

In the backyard, they made a small space feel large by installing a retaining wall, a faux-turf putting green, and an outdoor kitchen.

With a great outdoor lounge space out back and a cool game room inside, the new owners will have plenty of choices for entertaining guests.

While the house didn’t end up winning Season 2 of “Rock the Block,” Holmes and Victoria certainly have something to be proud of.
