Enberg, whose career spanned nearly six decades, was a staple of national sports coverage on NBC, CBS, and ESPN, both on radio and television. He was also a play-by-play announcer for UCLA Bruins basketball, Los Angeles Rams football, and San Diego Padres baseball (where he finished his professional career in 2016).
His honors include 13 Sports Emmy Awards, nine National Sportscaster of the Year awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, among many others. In 1973, he was the first U.S. sportscaster to visit the People’s Republic of China.
