On His Way Out of North Carolina, Cam Newton Selling Luxe $2.9M Charlotte Condo

After being cut loose in North Carolina, former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has listed his luxe condo in Charlotte, NC, for $2.9 million.

The three-bedroom, 3.5 bathroom unit offers 3,335 square feet of luxury living space. It takes up half the fifth floor of a building known as The Trust—a location that the listing details call “the most exclusive address in Uptown Charlotte.”

There are seven units in the building, and Newton snapped up his condo through an LLC in April 2012, for $1.6 million. Another tenant in the building, NBA legend Michael Jordan, occupies the entire seventh floor, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Newton’s signature style is apparent throughout. One amenity that acknowledges his career as a gridiron star? A full-size Pepsi machine emblazoned with Newton’s likeness.

Gleaming hardwood floors cover most of the interior and exposed ductwork and concrete ceilings lend the unit a loftlike vibe.

The enormous master bedroom has a glorious bathroom with a huge soaking tub. A large walk-in closet was ideal for the star QB, a noted clotheshorse.

The spacious kitchen features high-end appliances, a large island, and an abundance of cabinet space. Upscale customizations include a Crestron home automation system, high-end fixtures in the guest bathrooms, and top-of-the-line light fixtures.

Newton, 31, starred in college at Auburn University. In 2010, he led the Tigers to a National Championship and won the Heisman Trophy.

He was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. As the Panthers quarterback, he won the NFL MVP in 2015, and led the team to a Super Bowl appearance that season.

After the 2019 season, in which he was plagued by injuries, the Panthers released their former franchise QB. Newton recently signed a one-year, $7.5-million contract with the New England Patriots.

The listing is represented by Shane McDevitt with the McDevitt Agency.
