While awaiting a potential start to the 2020 MLB season, Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. is making a move. The fireballing righty has listed his Houston home for $1,625,000.

The modern farmhouse-style residence was finished in 2017 by a local luxury homebuilder, Ashton Gray Development. According to the listing details, it was designed by the award-winning architecture firm Brickmoon Design.

It went on the market in January 2017 for $1.65 million, before selling to McCullers for an undisclosed price in August of that year.

Featuring abundant curb appeal, the home offers four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and 3,542 square feet of living space.

We were wowed by the home’s gorgeous wide-plank oak floors, which run throughout the home. The spacious family area features a gas fireplace and built-in shelving—ideal for displaying awards or family photos.

The impressive gourmet kitchen features a massive island, with plenty of cabinets for storage, and a quaint breakfast area.

The first floor also features a multipurpose room that could be used as a fifth bedroom or study, as well as a walk-in pantry and a mudroom.

On the upper level, you’ll find the spacious owner’s suite, which offers a custom-built closet, a large shower with black, white, and gray herringbone tile, as well as a vanity area with a “spa-like bath.” There are three additional bedrooms—all with en suite bathrooms and walk-in closets.

Upstairs is a bonus living spot for relaxing, which could also be used as a game or media room.

The backyard is extremely low maintenance, thanks to its artificial turf. Smart home features and security cameras have been installed to ensure privacy and safety.

Located in the center of the West University neighborhood, the home is within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Downtown Houston and Minute Maid Park are 6 miles away.

McCullers, 26, was selected in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Astros. Three years later, he made his first big league appearance.

In 2017, he made the All-Star team and helped lead the Astros to a World Series Championship. He missed the entire 2019 season, after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his elbow.

Susan McCauley with Bernstein Realty is representing McCullers with the sale.
