The singer and songwriter Sammy Hagar is hoping to record a sale of his home in Lake Arrowhead, CA. His fantastic French chateau on the water has come back on the market for $3.9 million.
In January, the home was offered either as a rental or for sale, but now it’s solely listed for purchase.
The rocker bought the property in 2009 for $2.3 million, at which point the home wasn’t yet finished. He then had the home completed in 2010 by Harrell Construction & Shell Properties of Riverside, CA.
“Sammy Hagar is all about family,” says one of the listing agents, Tracy Tutor with Douglas Elliman.
“He built this getaway, located only two hours away from Los Angeles, for the whole family to get together for reunions and holidays, and that’s what makes the property so special.”
In 2017, after owning the picturesque place for eight years, the performer placed the lakefront retreat on the market in 2017 for $5.9 million. Now, a buyer can move on in at a much lower price.

The vacation getaway features eight bedrooms and 9.5 bathrooms on 6,557 square feet.
As the listing details attest, the “phenomenally crafted” home offers lake views and “endless detail to local craftsmanship and beauty.”
With an open living and dining area, the living space features vaulted, beamed ceilings and a fireplace, and opens to a terrace. The kitchen boasts two oversized granite counters, Viking and Sub-Zero appliances, a built-in warming drawer, and custom cabinetry.
One level up, highlights of the master bedroom include lake views, 30-foot ceilings, and a balcony.
The en suite comes with two separate vanities, a soaking tub, sauna, and steam shower. The top level, dubbed the “arrival lounge,” comes with two guest bedroom suites. A game room includes a bar.
Traces of the “Red Rocker” are evident in such details as the huge sound system in the media area, and the guitar resting upright in a bedroom. Other high-end details of the home include granite boulders cut on site, hand-carved limestone, walnut flooring, and beamed ceilings.

In addition to his California retreat, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer also decided to let go of a clifftop Hawaiian home, placing it on the market in 2017 for $3.3 million. This Maui mansion is now listed as being off the market.
In addition to his successful solo career with the hit “I Can’t Drive 55,” Hagar, 72, is also known as the former lead singer of Van Halen. He has demonstrated he has business chops, founding the Cabo Wabo tequila and restaurant chain, as well as Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum.
