Custom-Built $45M Waterfront Estate in Great Neck Is Most Expensive New Listing

realtor.com

A custom-built estate in Great Neck, NY—complete with its own beach—just landed on the market for $45 million. The premium price bestows the mansion with the title of most expensive new listing on realtor.com® this week.

Known as Swan Landing, the waterfront estate designed by architecture firm Shope Reno Wharton Associates includes indoor and outdoor pools, a tennis court, and a deep-water dock.

But there’s so much more. Located on Long Island’s North Shore in an area called Kings Point, the 23,000-square-foot mansion has 13 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. Built in 1995, the “unparalleled stone and shingle estate embodies the essence of strategic architecture and design,” the listing states.

The main floor has two libraries, and the living room features a coffered ceiling and a curved wall of windows with views of Manhasset Bay. The formal dining room with fireplace opens to a large stone patio with water views.

Adjacent to the dining room, the chef’s kitchen includes a butler’s pantry, custom cabinetry, two-level island, and state-of-the-art appliances. There’s also an octagonal breakfast room with French doors leading outside.

A luxury master suite features a 12-foot ceiling, stone fireplace, water views, sitting room, dual walk-in closets, and his-and-her bathrooms (one of which took seven months to complete due to an intricate mosaic design).

All-season entertainment options include the basement game room, gym, wine cellar, changing room, and indoor pool with multiple sets of French doors that open to the stone patio and outdoor pool.

The landscaped grounds include a lily pond, English garden, dock, and beach. A two-bedroom, two-bathroom guest cottage with an eat-in-kitchen and fireplace comes with the sale.

Located about an hour from Manhattan, the exclusive enclave of Kings Point offers a coastal sanctuary that juts onto Long Island Sound. The proximity to urban areas leaves the option of buying the property as a (very pricey) vacation home, or a full-time residence.

Jason Friedman with Daniel Gale Great Neck holds the listing.
