The rapper and music mogul Pharrell Williams is hoping to shake up his real estate portfolio in 2021. The top priority? The hitmaker wants to offload a contemporary mansion in Los Angeles.

The luxe residence was originally purchased in 2015 for $7.14 million, and Williams listed it for $11.95 million in May 2020. It has remained on the market for months, with no change in price, and no indication of an offer.

Completed in 2007, the gated architectural retreat covers just over 1.5 acres. Designed by the well-known architect Hagy Belzberg, the contemporary construction offers an open floor plan, with a total of five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, plus a separate one-bedroom guesthouse, for a total of over 4,400 square feet.

Perched on a hill, the award-winning architecture offers 280-degree views of Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley from every room.

An infinity pool offers jaw-dropping city vistas as well. For additional outdoor entertainment, a large movie projector screen located in the front garden will entertain and delight.

For overnight guests, a separate two-story, one-bedroom detached guesthouse is an appealing option.

Williams, 47, placed another L.A. home on the market for $17 million last year, and it wound up going viral. The questionable aesthetics of the gigantic glass mansion fueled an array of comments on social media likening the single-family home to an office park or community college.

The chart-topper wound up selling the window-heavy residence last fall for $14 million. Although it may be difficult to imagine offloading the mansion as anything but a win, Williams did take a loss. He purchased the place in 2018 from the media mogul Tyler Perry for $15.6 million.

Williams was busy on the other coast last year as well, purchasing a massive estate in Coral Gables, FL, for $30 million. The Sunshine State mansion offers nine bedrooms and 11.5 bathrooms spread over a whopping 17,000 square feet of living space on nearly 3.5 acres—perfect for riding out the pandemic in high style.

Williams was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA, where he and his friend Chad Hugo formed the hip-hop and R&B production duo the Neptunes in the 1990s, producing hits for artists like Gwen Stefani, Usher, and BeyoncĂ©. The seven-time Grammy award winner has also been nominated for two Academy Awards.

Kurt Rappaport with Westside Estate Agency holds the listing.
